From the engineers at Zipp, comes the all-new 302 Carbon Clincher. With a 45 mm deep Indianapolis-made carbon rim, optimized for low aerodynamic drag and precise handling in all riding conditions, the 302 Carbon Clincher delivers the ride that Zipp wheels are renowned for at a price that makes Zipp carbon quality and performance more attainable than ever.
To keep the wheels light and easy to service Zipp used a center locking brake rotor mounting interface on 76D/176D hubs. The 76D/176D hubset also features replaceable axle end caps for thru-axle compatibility. Add in the 302’s XDR driver body compatibility, and you have a wheelset that can meet the needs of virtually everyone. And like all of Zipp´s carbon clinchers, the 302 uses the same rim bed design that makes tire removal and installation as easy as possible.
The 302’s smooth carbon rim is hand assembled to Zipp’s new 76D/176D hubs using Belgian CX-Sprint spokes and brass spoke nipples to build a wheel that is both fast and reliable—tough enough to survive the Spring Classics or the road less travelled, yet light enough to tackle the steepest grades.
302 rims, like all of Zipp's carbon clinchers, are proudly made in Indianapolis. Since Zipp’s inception in 1988 they choose to handcraft carbon rims there for one reason: Precision. With complete control of the manufacturing process from start to finish, Zipp builds wheels that set the industry standard for precision. Rigorously inspected at the Indianapolis factory, Zipp ensures that only the world’s best wheels receive the Zipp label — and Zipp´s engineers are proud to make this level of quality more attainable than ever with the 302. The 45 mm rim depth provides proven aero benefits with high stability, yet the 302 remains nimble to make this a wheel for all terrain and wind conditions.
