Wilier 0 SLR Disc Force AXS, rojo (velvet red matte)
Nothing will ever be the same again
Wilier 0 SLR is the first ultra-light road bike frame with disc brakes and fully internally routed cables. Behind the rather restrained aesthetics of the Wilier 0 SLR frame is a synthesis of highly sophisticated concepts of lightness and integration. It can boast all the characteristics that particularly demanding cyclists look for in technologically advanced road bikes: maximum lightness, stability and optimal control at high speeds, good braking performance, electronic transmission, aerodynamic efficiency and complete integration of the cables. All this fused in the style of Wilier's unmistakable design.
Unmatched lightness
A distinctive feature of the Wilier Zero SLR is the lightweight of the frame: at 780 grams in size M, the black matt version of the Wilier Zero SLR ranks first in the product range of ultra-light frames from Wilier Triestina. With a full set of top equipment, the bike weighs in at a full 6.5 kg.
Stiffness to weight
With carbon frames, high STW values (abbreviation for Stiffness-To-Weight) are synonymous with performance. It is easy to deduce from the formula that high values for torsional stiffness or low weight are worthwhile quality features. To obtain a rigid frame, material is usually added, which increases the weight. If, on the other hand, the weight is to be reduced, there is a risk of compromising stiffness and thus handling and riding safety. With the Wilier 0 SLR, thanks to the carbon compound used, the special fibre orientation and the construction technology, they were able to achieve the ultimate lightness and stiffness ratio, which exceeds the STW value of the previous Zero.7 and Zero.6 models by 24%.
Easy-Fit spacers
The spacers between the head tube of the frame and the handlebar are made of composite material with high rigidity and feature a special cavity for cable routing. The two-piece composition allows for easy assembly and disassembly without additional work on the cables that run between the handlebars and the frame.
Asymmetry as a solution
The power transmission to the rear wheel must not be unevenly distributed, as this leads to a loss of pedalling power. To meet this requirement, the rear triangle is asymmetrical, with the left strut inclined slightly more upwards than the right. This arrangement prevents the power that the rider transmits to the chain from being deflected sideways. For this reason, the solution lies in asymmetry.
Balance design
Six sizes - unique riding experience. The tube sections in the different sizes are designed so that stiffness, steering behaviour and comfort are the same for each frame size. More specifically, a different section of the main tubes was sized at the design stage, based on the size, to increase the torsional stiffness and stability of the frame.
Seatpost and clamp
For the Wilier 0 SLR, Wilier Triestina specially developed a new carbon monocoque seatpost. The slim shape refers to the shortened rear profile of the aerodynamic Wilier Triestina models Cento10PRO and Cento10NDR. The seatpost is available in two geometries, one with a 0 mm retraction and the other with a 115 mm retraction, both compatible with the Ritchey 1-bolt seat clamp. Attachment to the frame is done with an expander housed inside the horizontal tube. A high for aesthetics and aerodynamics.
