DH WorldCup courses today are steep technical monsters with constantly changing conditions. The Maxxis Pros needed a mid-spike tire for this, which copes just as well with dry, loose and rutted corners as with some mud. The Shorty is such a tire. A high-volume two-ply carcass makes it more versatile than the WetScream mud tires. Large, high and slightly staggered side lugs penetrate loose soil and ensure predictable rounding of corners at the speed of light. In the center, two lug types alternate: Rectangular lugs and square lugs, with strong bite under braking and excellent self-cleaning.

Foldable bead core
also rings made of Kevlar or other aramid fiber hold the tires securely on the rim. Lower weight and easy transport due to small pack size are advantages.

3C MaxxTerra
The freeride version of the 3C tires. Significantly more grip and traction due to softer compounds, with acceptable rolling resistance, so that you can still drive well up the mountain before the great descent, long life.

Tubeless Ready (TR)
Tubeless tires have many advantages: you can ride with less air pressure and thus have better traction, rolling resistance is lower than with tube, and where there is no tube, the risk of punctures also decreases. Maxxis TR tires are better prepared for mounting with sealant than other "Tubeless Ready" tires, because the bead is completely covered with a layer of rubber, like a real UST tubeless tire. This makes tubeless mounting successful on all rims that meet standard dimensions, with the first inflation and with little fluid.

EXO Protection
This extremely cut and abrasion resistant material protects the sidewall of various MTB tires. It is very tightly woven, lightweight and very flexible. This keeps the performance of the tires unchanged convincingly good.
